Thankyou so much for posting the high resolution images. They look incredible. Now we just need to find the footage. It's mentioned in another thread 49 episodes of this exist in a vault in Berlin. Does anyone have any further info that any of the episodes Bowie appeared on do exist?

Thanks for those, nice to have them in hires! To clarify: these pictures are not of the German TV shows mentioned earlier in the thread, but from two Dutch tv shows from '67 and '71.

There were talks ages ago that episodes of Eddy, Ready, Go! had survived on prehistoric U-matic video tapes in a private collection. The guy must have been a very early adopter then to catch the show featuring Bowie. Anyway, probably to be filed under 'Rumours & lies & stories they made up' but if only...

I have been in touch with someone working at one of the Dutch public TV stations. He has done research on what's left in the Dutch TV archives and it's thanks to his efforts that we can enjoy footage of the Ivor Novello Awards.
So it is confirmed that the YouTube footage of that Lion Kwintet is from the same show that featured Bowie. Bowie performed MOAFF on the same white piano... Unfortunately no footage remains on archive, so our hopes are on the original uploader, who hasn't replied yet.

The third picture is from the same shoot as the one that appears in the BBC sampler. Two images appear but one is just the same photo cropped and reversed. (Sorry if this is old news)

The Lion Kwintet Super 8 footage was shot by the singer's wife. It was uploaded by the group's bass player. Unfortunately she recorded only the band's performance...
The only further information I was able to get was that Bowie appeared at the start of the program. Eddy Ready Go was recorded to Ampex tapes, which all have been wiped.
So I guess that's the end of the story. No moving images of David.

Nightmare Was hoping you may get success there Ruud. Out of curiosity, what date was Bowie's performance recorded / broadcast and was it only "Memory Of A Free Festival" that he performed?

The date was 15 August 1970 and the song performed was Memory Of A Free Festival, which had been released in the Netherlands as a single.
