Here's the thing, I own (play) an old Telecaster ('63) which is in need of some fret work and other bits and pieces, to fund this rather expensive but essential work I need to part with one or two items. I'm offering an original print photographed / given to me by Kevin Cummins back in 1976, (Kevin was a regular visitor to our flat, tagging along with Slaughter and the Dogs at the time - he would later become famous for his iconic work with Joy Division, the NME and other publications) the faint line running across the picture is from a grubby scanner and is not on the print Doesn't effect the image Wonder who'll answer that number now measures 10" x 8" - stored away from sunlight The photograph was taken at the Free Trade Hall Manchester on June 7th 1973. Personally I've never seen the picture published - though I could well be mistaken, Kevin has it featured amongst his portfolio but it is not offered for sale, nor ever has been. The picture itself is in very good condition (considering its age etc) no pin holes, or folds etc. I must have at one time placed it in a book of some sorts, but whatever I used to hold it in place has not effected the image in the slightest. Kevin's stamp is on the back. I thought this would be a good place to offer it - if anyone is interested, (I'm not looking for a fortune) then please make a reasonable offer. .

I'm pretty sure it's the same shot.

I remember that this particular pose was a popular subject for posters, pins and T-Shirts (a fly-sellers delight), Anyone witnessing a Bowie gig back then will recall the flash of the photographers bulb at this very point, your pin certainly looks like its from the same shot, (Kevin will be pleased) Mind you he gave more than one copy of his print away, it was such a great photo which helped him secure a job (with Paul Morley) at the NME, (Kevin and Paul were Manchester's answer to Nick Kent & Pennie Smith, but better ) .

Ampex I wouldn't be at all surprised as this was just prior to Kevins' move to London and his date with the NME. He was working full time as a 'rock' photographer and this certainly would be a good source for some extra dosh, However, my particular print (which has now sold - and payed for some bits on my '66 lefty Tele', lovely) was given to me whilst we were both involved with Rabid Records / Slaughter and the Dogs. I don't recall Paper Chase selling boots though (I'm more than likely wrong) there was a small shop on Tib Street, and a warehouse type place near Victoria station, where you walked through a hidden door to a basement full of 'em. Here's a great little article on those old Manchester bootleg days (the place he's talking about is the one on Tib street) And a snippet on the history of Bootlegs I've also just stumbled across (apologies for going off subject a tad)
