If any of our Australian friends see an Aussie pressed "The Man Who Sold The World" in their local CD store, I'll be very grateful if they can contact me to discuss a trade.

Unfortunately, it's not. The discs coming out of EMI's warehouse now are EU pressings.

And therein lies the problem. Both releases have the 521901 catalogue number.

As far as I can tell, Australian retailers are now selling EU pressings, but there are a few Australian pressings left on the shelves in larger stores.

What I really need here is somebody to check their local stores for me.

I bought all the 1999 re masters here in Australia on the first day of release. They were all made in the EU. I never realised there was an Australian release? Next time I'm in red eye or JB Hifi I'll have a look.

Many thanks for that, it is appreciated.

That's the other reason why I've struggled to find these discs. Most of the Australian traders I've contacted say they don't exist. An Australian Let's Dance appeared circa 2000 though, and Space Oddity through Lodger were released during the past year or so.

Oh well, at least I now know for certain that the CDs in the stores are EU pressings. Just knowing that is very helpful.

Many, many thanks Scobb.

Funny thing was is that all the other albums were Australian so it makes me wonder whether this was ever printed here?

Very interested to hear that. My contact in Perth had to visit a few stores to find Space Oddity through Lodger less TMWSTW. He did see a TMWSTW, but it was expensive and it had been sold by the time I confirmed it was ok to pay the asking price. Before reading this comment, I also assumed that there aren't recent Australian pressings for Scary Monsters through Tin Machine?

I can’t recall any specific albums but pretty sure I saw Scary Monsters and Let’s Dance. If I ever do see a Man Who Sold The World I’ll get it for you! Just make sure that if you find a copy beforehand that you pm me or post here so I don’t waste the money!

Many thanks, Scoob. I've sent you a PM.
