And is anybody offended if I cut all but the laser discs from the movies (drama) section? In retrospect I think this is overkill and not very interesting...

i'd like to think that Blu-ray and some dvds are as deserving as laser discs, but i would be happy to see it restricted to movies in which bowie is seen and not only heard (thus lose the animated crap). would seem odd to remove The Man Who Fell To Earth while including documentaries where he speaks for a few seconds about another artist. i don't mind either way, it's not like it's hard for fans/collectors to find this stuff if they want to.

I was going to post the Polish edition of Labyrinth but even before I got to scanning it I thought who the hell is interested in stuff like this? I'd like to hear more opinions. And remember that in a few years time DVDs are the VHS tapes of c. ten years ago...

agreed but laser discs are the betamax i think the aim should be to put together the key titles. i don't personally think we need to see full scans of documentaries and compilations - a screen shot showing bowie's presence would be more appropriate. see where it goes and trim accordingly?

I would love to see the videography as complete as possible. Although I agree that tapes are not that interesting anymore and could be left out of this videography. But as long as DVD's are sold in the shops which still is the case it will keep collectors going to buy them. If you should decide to not feature all versions or skip the different releases then the different releases / countries in the discography is also a thing that should be overlooked if they are worthwhile mentioning as well. In my opinion a serious collector is always interested in what has been released over the years. And let be honest there is at the moment no other site that shows all these.
I think that it would again be a upgrade to this wondeful site which I am enjoying for many years now

I do collect VHS's as well, but I haven't had the time to start scanning/photographing those yet; same for DVD's. I'd prefer keeping the structure as it is now, but if you decide to trim the videography a bit, I can understand that; I realize there may be very few other people than me interested in VHS tapes

DVD is an optical disc storage format, invented and developed by Philips, Sony, Toshiba, and Panasonic in 1995. The format went on sale in Japan in 1996, in the United States in 1997, in Europe in 1998 and in Australia in 1999 ( wikipedia informations sourced)
So there are some release Date errors on the videography forum.

I have looked again at this title and there were some Roman numbers on it which makes clear that it is 1998. Will make the correction in the videography.

OK, so we're going to change some things. Rather then trying to catch all, we will focus on the same titles as currently listed in the IdbD. This means that all but the titles featuring music or musical contributions will go. Please don't put any effort in scanning those titles. As it was set up originally as a way to list all laser discs, these will remain in a separate section if they do not feature music.

As you can see the Videography now is a subforum rather than a section of its own. I have added a new section with promos in the hope that someone can provide scans and details. In particular the video promos section would be interesting!
