Hello out there!

With a few friends, we are working on a discography of all Japanese db signles, with all possible variations, etc.

At this point I have something like 125 entries (excluding the radio station acetates).

Anybody having interesting variations, pressings or records that may have escaped my radar is really welcome to contact me.

It should come out as a book with all fully illustrated in color.

Thank you!

Those aren't the most expensive Japanese singles I'm sorry to say - maybe around GBP10-15 each, a little more for Stay.

Golden Years is probably going to cost more than that... i've been looking for one for over a year now without luck. are you selling jayethan?

NB: there are several pressings of Starman, and the value varies depending on which you have. it's the most common Japanese single but the first issue is very hard to find.

the first and rarest starman has the tri-centre or propeller centre. other issues all have a large centre hole and are distinguished by manufacturer and small print details. there are other indicators such as the paper stock and whether the JIS mark is included. i haven't really investigated matrix numbers as they're not as easy to read as others (i.e. they don't have a simple A1/A2/A3 progression).

Starman is the only tri-centre of the RCAs. prior to that the mega-rare Philips singles also had them. Starman tri-centre label looks like this...

i don't have an online discography but am part of the japanese 7" discography project that the OP references and one day it'll see the light of day. reluctant to reveal too much of the content at this stage.

All RCA Bowie singles have the large round centre, except for the first issue of Starman pictured.

Starman was manufactured by three different companies. RVC was the third of the three.
