Piras has just uploaded this on MindWarpPavilion:
01 - Tired Of My Life
02 - Shadowman
03 - How Lucky You Are
04 - I've Got Lightning
05 - Looking For A Friend
06 - Rupert The Riley
07 - Rupert The Riley (with effects)
Even though the tracks will be familiar to most, they have not been circulated before in this quality. Compare these to previous versions on bootleg - they sound 100% better!

Actually I hadn't thought about that, but it does fit Even though I don't think these recordings originated from 100% originally.

ALL tracks came with best sound quality ever.
'I've Got Lightning' is real stereo version with complete intro.
(Ryko version is mono with 'fade in' intro.)

A big thanks to Maarten for his tip to this amazing set of 1971 tracks.
They are fantastic.
Same goes for that unknown Tin Machine track.

can someone explain what all this 'Torrent' business is? Seems complicated, and does it leave your computer open to harm? Is there any way of downloading these songs without all that, such as any nice person on the forum offering them up? Thought I would ask, not being a big computer wizard.

Thankyou very very much TheLodger, fantastic, I'm so pleased I can now hear them. They are great of course. Thats the sort of downloading I mean, a couple of clicks and you have something to listen to, not all that complicated stuff. Again a big thanks, and also, while I'm at it, thanks to all the others on the forum who have put useful links to stuff, makes this site all the more interesting.

Hi all,
Thanks for the tip re the tracks.
May i ask a favour. Could I seek some advice on torrents. I have attempted to download torrents before but gave up when I saw it might take more than my lifetime to secure the file download.
Is there a faster way? Am I doing something wrong?
My broadband speed is only 1.2mbs. I am using a Mac OSX 10.5.2. Recommend and software?
Cheers
John

What often slows torrents down is when you haven't opened up ports in your modem/router.
How this works depends on what brand and type you have, for more information see http://www.portforward.com or the forum at MindWarpPavilion.
Of course the speed is also dependent on 'the other side' - if there is noone seeding then you won't be able to download. For the above torrent there are 14 seeders, so that shouldn't be a problem here.

John, if you are on a dual G5, at all costs avoid Azureus. It used to be my torrent client of choice but under Leopard it gives me kernel panics all the time. Try Transmission instead.

I just listened to these tracks today for the first time in over a year. Wow -- I had forgotten what a huge upgrade in sound quality they are! Better than any of my c. 1990s-era CD boots.
Thanks again for letting us know about them!
