Just to say I hope Shooky is OK, although I don't know him at all I'm sure regulars to the site will have noticed his location. And same goes to anyone else out there who may be reading this. I can't imagine how bad it all must be.
Pete.

asianbowie in osaka and myself in takasaki are a fair distance from the quake and tsunami zones, although we're currently more anxious about the delicate nuclear situation which is a little too close for comfort (i'm 90 miles from fukushima). i would say that the way the news is being reported abroad has been far more sensational and headline-grabbing than here. it's a cliché, but the resilience and togetherness of the japanese is inspiring, which makes the ex-pats tweeting all over the bbc website about their local supermarkets in tokyo being empty all the more shameful. let's see how this plays out... and thanks for your concern, it's appreciated.

Hi Shooky,
Although we do not know each other in person I also would like you to know that i'm just glad you're safe in a way. So is your family and friends too hopefuly. Let's just hope that the nuclear things will be under control soon. We in Holland and other countries are seeing images of the disaster almost every day on tv. And they are heartbreaking.
All the very best and kind regards Ruud (RDO)

Thank you to all members who concern about my country. As shooky said, I'm in Osaka far from the area of quake.
Now over 8000 people died. Some fans posted to massage board of Japanese fan site, saying "I hope David Bowie will give a message to Japan just like Rolling Stones did." But I don't think he will do, because he is not an artist in activities but a dad who is enjoying his life with family.
And the fan also said "New album is much welcomed than message!"

Glad to hear you are OK, Asianbowie. I did remember where you were right after I had put the message on, I knew there was someone other than Shooky. I hope things start to get better for you all SOON.
Pete.
