...and evidence to suppose that some of the TV performances we thought Lost forever are indeed still in existance.
Spectacular news.
More on this at a later date.

In a vault in Berlin reside 49 complete episodes of "4-3-2-1 Hot and Sweet" dating from about 65-71.
Bowie performed four times on German TV in the sixties.
Things like "Please Mr. Gravedigger"

Quote: In a vault in Berlin reside 49 complete episodes of "4-3-2-1 Hot and Sweet" dating from about 65-71. Is this really true? And is there anymore information on this? Very exciting if true. In the 'Any Day Now' book it states Bowie did 'Love You Til Tuesday', 'Did You Ever Have A Dream' and a mime to 'Please Mr Gravedigger' in 1968. He also performed an unknown song possibly 'When I Live My Dream' and a pantomime piece a few months later. In 1969 he was back doing 'Space oddity'. If any of these were found it would be a major Bowie find. I love this early Bowie period and would chop off a finger for a each performance!

The Ampex tapes of the German television programs; Fur Jeden Etwas Musik, including London Boys and the two 4-3-2-1 Musik Für Junge Leute programs starring David Bowie have been located at the ZDF archives in Mainz in 2009 and recently digitally re-mastered and planned for release on a special DVD box set entitled; 4-3-2-1 Musik Für Junge Leute.

Fingers crossed (those that still have them anyway ) that box set will actually be released. If the material has really been found than I'm sure we will get to see it eventually - what's the use of keeping that material hidden? It wasn't previously known that London Boys was performed at these appearances, was it?

This is new to me also maarten, but on my video research ive these 4-3-2-1 Musik Für Junge Leute shows with unknown performed, London Boys would be stunning Fingers crossed indeed mate

Incidentally I contacted the ZDF about this two weeks ago. This, unfortunately, was the answer: Quote: Dear Ruud,
I just checked our database and found out that we do not have own rights on the material listed. It is therefore unlikely that something will be released.
Best regards

One would hope they could sort out the rights, difficult though it may be? Where theres a will. Must be an amazing trove all in all. I know The Doors appeared on it too, the mind boggles who else. Even if an official release is a long way off, fingers crossed bits and pieces might slip out. Would be ridiculous to do nothing, like they'd never found it.

They say they don't own the rights BUT they don't say the footage is there? Is it really? Can ZDF confirm it's been found? I'll hold off on the rest until I have proof.

If anyone can find who owns the rights, let me know!
Also - COMPLETELYANDTOTALLY irrelevant, did you know the DJ promo film was partly shot in Lambeth?
Sorry, forgot to mention it before!
