Well, I don't have much to offer here, but I believe the reissue of 'buddha of suburbia' lists the track 'the mysteries' as 'the mysterie' somewhere, and I believe the newer issue of 'all saints' lists the track as both as well, but I don't recall.

I've got errors that are extremely minor, but really annoyed me at the time when the American Ryco reissues first came out.
The first 2 relate to the tracklistings shown on the back covers of Aladdin Sane and Pinups.
On Aladdin Sane they've tried to pretty it up by showing the song titles centre justified in blue. The track numbers and times are in white, except for Time which has a blue track number. The person who had the task of colouring it all in probably didn't notice Time's number as the title is so short the number is buried amongst the other titles.
Pinups is similar, the titles are pink and track numbers and times are in white, except 'I wish you would' which has it's time in pink.
Doesn't anyone proofread anything associated with major releases?
Still with the Ryco reissues. Track 12 on "Heroes", Joe the lion remixed version is shown as being 5 minutes and 18 seconds which leads me to believe there was a longer remix created, but replaced at the last minute (after the sleeve was designed) by the standard length remix.
Lastly I've only just realised my Slow burn/Heathen sampler (Columbia XPCD2693) lists the Sunday Moby remix as running at 5:10 which would normally be correct except that the track on this disc runs for about 3:05. It ends at the end of the first section. I always assumed that was the extent of the Moby mix, having only listened to the bonus disc on my original Heaven CD once when it first came out. I only discovered the variation when I recently bought the 10 disc box.

Apparently the idea was to include the extended version of Beauty And The Beast, which runs 5'18". I wish they had gone with the original idea because that remix of Joe The Lion must stand as one of the most superfluous bonus tracks in the (excellent) Ryko reissue series.

Its not really a miss pressing as such, more of an observation. I recently noticed that some of my Blue spined RCA version cds /Grey silver disc has been made in Japan. Pin Ups,Aladdin Sane, Golden Years, Changestwo are the discs in question.I always thought there was two sets of these discs. Blue spined versions and Multi coloured spined. One being German/uk and the other set US/Japan.
So why is it that i have these discs made in Japan and also I have noticed the silver top is more raised on the cds than the other cds- more heavily printed.
Any more info would be great, Thanks Nigel

From my experience here in Australia at the time, I found shops that had stock of both German and Japanese discs and who kept the discs behind the counter and the cases on the shelves sometimes mixed up the discs when placing them in cases when they were purchased. It happened to me a couple of times and both times I was able to sort it out.
Not sure if this is how your ones happened. It could also have been that there weren't enough discs in one country so they were imported and placed in cases that were manufactured in that country.

Bks wrote: So why is it that i have these discs made in Japan and also I have noticed the silver top is more raised on the cds than the other cds- more heavily printed. My guess is production costs and/or pressing plant availabilty. CDs hadn't been around for long and Europe certainly couldn't produce the number of discs it does now. Printing varies with the type of equipment used. Early editions of the Japanese Let's Dance, for the Japanese market, were actually pressed by Sony because EMI didn't have the capacity to do it. Even now, we see European pressings released in the US and Japan because it's cheaper than pressing them locally. Austalian RCAs are also a good example of importing discs from the cheapest and most reliable source. Mostly German and US imports, but they also printed their own artwork for Fame & Fashion and Scary Monsters. Presumably because they couldn't get it elsewhere or the import was too expensive. Ignore the "printed in" statement. It's copied from the US artwork. The discs are Japanese.

Here's another kind of missprint:
Loving The Alien the shaped picture disc:
Note that the misscoloring is only on "other" side.
And also note that it wasn't that way when I bought it.
I know I read somewhere about this brown color appearing on the single (and also on some of the shaped disc of Underground), but I don't remember why...)

Yes, (almost?) all copies of the Loving The Alien 7" picture disc are discolored nowadays. Must be bad quality vinyl that reacts with the air or the printed paper inside or something. A shame really!
What is funny is that nowadays on eBay they almost always only show pictures of the backside...

There's of course also the mispressed Thursday's Child cd-single, where CD2 plays the tracks of CD1. When it came out I could only find the mispressed version here in The Netherlands, and I listened to a LOT of the cd's in different shops.

That's funny... for me it was the other way around; I couldn't find the misspressed one.

My copy of rarestonebowie doesn't feature the secret Pin Ups track at the beginning.
I tried everything when I got it trying to locate it but came to the conclusion that it just isn't there.
I'm sure there are plenty more out there.
