Well known anomaly among the already variable Hunky Dory sleeves. Apparently not in receipt of the front cover artwork, RCA New Zealand proceeded to use what looks like a proof of the back cover (note cropped sides) for both front and back, printed in single colour sepia. There are some hand-painted shadows and neckline on Bowie's clothing but in keeping with the rest of the cover it's very amateur in execution. The lyric insert again has slightly different typeface and layout to the others. The small print matches the US issue. The spine is the traditional "pinched" design common to Australia/NZ albums.

Third NZ issue. Around 1976 RCA Australia and RCA NZ joined forces, hence the reference to both countries on the label. Back cover (in mono, with text still cropped) has NZ in the bottom right corner.

NB: Before the RCA Australia and RCA New Zealand merger, NZ RCA discs were manufactured by Pye NZ, and state this. Hunky Dory is available in two Pye editions: the first temporary cover (see original post), and corrected second issue, which will hopefully appear here at some point. This is the PYE issue with the correct sleeve, albeit it noticeably cropped on both front and rear. Rear is cropped to the extent it loses the edge of the text.

This copy of the sleeve is a little worse for wear, and has a section torn off the surface on the rear.
