Not too long ago i finally had the (mis)fortune of listening to the 12" mix of Shining Star. I notice the vocal is a lot slower in this version, but it definitely sounds a lot more natural sounding to the high pitched original. I think it was probably recorded at the slower tempo, then sped up for the album version. Thoughts?

To me it sounds likt the remix is slightly slowed down but not sure if that affects the vocals that much. The vocals do sound a lot more natural though which is good. The only problem is the remix suffers from "the 80s drum sound" moreso than the original vinyl and CD versions of the song, unfortunately making it (for me ) unlistenable.
