Spotted this listed on eBay Italy. As far as I'm aware this single never had an Italian or any Decca release for that matter?
Could this release have been intended but pulled? Or simply a fake?

Appeciate anyone's thoughts.

The Deram label was a subsidiary of Decca, so a Decca acetate would have been possible I guess.
No idea if this acetate is genuine or not, but there have been a number of fake acetates on eBay lately, so be careful! :)

It screams FAKE! the label is immaculate, how can it be for a 40 year plus acetate?? no signs of oxydazation on the label, the glue should have seeped thorugh by now and yellowed the label, youcan tell on other acetates on ebay like the Apple records ones. The Seller has another acetate for sale , Sex Pistols's EMI on a Warner Brothers studios label ???, again immaculate label, immaculate acetate. fake !!

indeed. seems Italy will soon have a reputation for fake acetates, and this is the latest in a line to come from there - need i remind anyone of the recent After Today fake (bought in a batch from an Italian seller and then resold)? vigilance and a little common sense should prevent too many people being ripped off.

in this case it's hard to have sympathy for the buyer... it's not like the warning signs weren't there.

Here are the pics from the auction before it disappears, might be good for comparison later on.

As Paul pointed out on the BWW message board, another two dodgy acetates have shown up on eBay for Little Bombardier/Rubber Band and Karma Man. They are very similar to the LYTT acetate posted earlier in this thread.

So again - be very careful when buying acetates from eBay!

I've again attached the pictures for comparison purposes after they disappear from eBay.

if karma man really is in stereo, then it's sourced from the deram deluxe, circa 2010.

Another dodgy acetate on eBay now:

This one doesn't look as obviously faked as the earlier examples, but something just seems off (what is an 'Advanced promotion acetate'? - were acetates ever used as promotional objects!?).
Furthermore this seller is selling a LOT of acetates by other well-known bands, and most of those are very fake looking acetates that look suspiciously similar to the earlier acetates in this thread.

So I can't be 100% sure this is fake - but be careful when bidding on acetates!

They may have been:

Donovan 1970

Ian Menzies & The Clyde Valley Stompers 1961

Kinks 1970

Captain Beefheart 1968

i think this could be genuine. the seller's completed listings show they're not normally an acetate seller and it looks pretty authentic. also the lack of info (they don't list the year, how hard would it be to look it up?) suggests no desire to mislead with the usual over-selling. the b-side could be a mistake (And I Say To Myself) or another artist.

the auction winner clearly believed it was genuine - $679.00.

Another two highly suspect acetates. The seller is selling lots of acetates, all by high profile groups... Especially the Decca label looks like exactly like the earlier fakes in this thread.
