I saw that as well, but I think it is a typo and should be 7". Just Google on 5099997903178 - you only see mention of a 7" single...

Here's a nice hi-res pic of the single by the way:

I hadn't noticed this before, from http://www.recordstoreday.com/SpecialRelease/5700:

"7" picture disc in advance of the 40th Anniversary reissue of Aladdin Sane."

That seems to confirm a reissue of Aladdin Sane is forthcoming...

Possibly, but a lot of water has passed under the bridge since that was written. EMI's recorded music division was sold to Universal Music on 9th November and rumour has it that Simon Fuller is negotiating to buy Parlophone, Pink Floyd, Kate Bush and and David Bowie.

L.A. Times.

Music Week.

Not forgetting that we still don't know if Bowie has a current EMI contract that can be sold.

I would like all these singles in 12 inch format.Better to look at and easier to play on the turntable.

We should point out that though the RSD site states: "picture disc in advance of the 40th Anniversary reissue of Aladdin Sane", there is no such thing actually in the pipeline.

So no Aladdin Sane 40th.

belatedly received mine today. amazing how they can screw up even two tracks... the a side is the standard album version not the "original single version" as claimed.
