Just bought this today. Machine stamped matrix 304 201. A friend said it could be one of the fake copies, was it copied?

I've never heard of fakes.
I would also be surprised if it was counterfeited as it isn't particularly valuable. On the other hand, the same is true for the US Starman 7" and US Space Oddity promo EP and those do have been counterfeited.

That's what i thought, the friend has the same single as mine and always thought it was a copy/fake.

The UK picture sleeves are fakes, I don't know of any counterfeits either.

Hi Ruud,

I was always led to believe that the UK sleeves were very rare and only used with the promo copies. I take it that's an urban legend that's been disproven?

Not that I could afford one but it will save me the bother of saving up for a copy!
