So 'The Laughing Gnome (Vocal Take 1, Mix 1) (Unreleased)' - if I'm not mistaken that's the one with the extra gnome lyrics that was on eBay a few years ago.

when they released Deram Anthology I remember reading that there were many versions, false starts, different gnome voices, versions where he sings belly instead of tummy

Firstly, that's now officially the Bowie product with the worst title.

Second, maybe i'm missing something, but the "unreleased" Space Oddity is listed as the Love You Til Tuesday version. There are already three official versions of the Morgan Studios version, so maybe it is released then?
And the actually unreleased Laughing Gnome take one is not referenced as such.

It didn't need the 'Laughing With Liza' title at all, just the Vocalion and Deram singles would've been fine. A shame they haven't included the rejected Deram singles or done some sort of BBC sessions EP either. But at £30 it's reasonably priced for a change.

Wonder why they used the sheet music for Liza Jane to mock up a picture sleeve? It looks nice enough but just a straight repro of the Vocallion sleeve (as they've done for Rubber Band) would have been more authentic - a picture sleeve for a bog-standard single in 1964 would've been pretty much unheard of, right?

According to my local record shop, the UK price will be in the region of 80GBP. Therefore, I'm hoping that the CD version will be 1/8th of the price!

Sadly, I don't think so. I've seen it quoted at £79 on another forum and my local record shop doesn't get it's pricing wrong. Fortunately, I've stopped buying vinyl so won't be queueing overnight for this or anything else in April but I can't believe just how much some items are going to cost. For instance, John Lennon's "Gimme Some Truth" on 9 x 10" singles is £400!

ouch and ouch again. i finally stopped wasting money on overpriced, poor quality, digitally sourced vinyl too, so this is not something i'll be buying unless it's "a bargain" (it won't be). better to wait it out, it'll turn up on digital eventually.

I wonder if those recordings that Shel Talmy was negotiating with Bowie's estate will be released at all

I certainly don't envy people who pay lots of money for vinyl - especially when the recordings are already available. I actually feel sorry for them but it's their choice. It would be different if the release was something not obtainable via any other means. As shooky said, it will turn up on digital eventually!

Probably Decca/Deram doesn't own the rights to the Parlophone/Pye singles (except they did turn up together on The Collection in 1985), but it feels like a random selection of early singles like this. Apart from that: why not use an original Liza Jane company sleeve (like Mark said) and why use the Dutch art sleeve for LYTT when you have the German picture sleeve that would fit in much better stylistically with the Belgian Laughing Gnome? And yes, let's not mention the title or the artwork.
