Weird little find on PPL today. It's listed under Bowie's base ISRC number and Only One Paper Left is a famous Bowie outtake. Haven't ever heard of this band as a pseudonym for Bowie or any of his various groups though (with the exception of the obvious Spiders comparison). Searching online doesn't find anything either. Also notable that it's the 98th ISRC number for 2023 when none of the rest of them shown up anywhere.

BRBW ARACHNID BAND Only One Paper Left USJT12300098 Warner Music UK Limited 2023 2:38sec

BRBW ARACHNID BAND: BRBW must be 'Bowie Ronson Bolder Woodmansey', Arachnid = Spiders

So hopefully we can expect Only One Paper Left at some point?

Waits with bated breath for 'It's Gonna Rain Again' and/or 'Something Happens' to appear - then we're on for a real Ziggy box of tricks to delight us.

Although hasn't it been frequently noted that, apart from 'Something Happens', none of these songs were actually finished (by David*), Ken Scott for one disputes the worthiness of these titles for any release

*A Bowie-less Hype did previously record 'Only One Paper Left' - produced by Tony Visconti, along with several other tracks for inclusion on a then proposed album.

But still, one waits with optimism for news from the frontline

It's listed there but that doesn't mean it will be released.
I remember of Oh You Pretty Things (demo)|, We Should be on by Now ,Get it on, Rupert the Riley(demo) and King of the City(version 1)that is still listed there and has not been released

I thought "Something Happens" was confirmed as a fake? The recording included on 'Starman Over the Rainbow' (and other boots) is a doctored recording of Colin Blunstone's "Something Happens When You Touch Me". It's track four on this cd -> https://www.discogs.com/r ... At-The-BBC

...or is there another song called 'Something Happens'

You're quite correct, I used 5years.com as my source, I'm guilty of scratching the ground for scraps, a dancing chicken

Well, wasn't it said that part of the delay with Divine Symmetry was that they had difficulty determining whether certain bonus tracks belonged with the Hunky Dory or Ziggy period? So maybe some of that stuff has been held over for the new box.

I'm not sure about that.
Oh you pretty things demo, King of the City version 1 and Rupert the Riley wouldn't fit into the Ziggy period

Let me throw 'The Black Hole Kids' into the mix..

Nicholas Pegg's 'Complete' (from 2016 ..to date the most recent edition) goes in to a some detail on the track.

For those who don't have access to a copy (hang your head) here's the quote:

The Black Hole Kids
"Described by Bowie in 2000 as "fascinating", this song from the Ziggy period was among the half-dozen fragments then being reworked with a view to release in 2002 to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the Ziggy Stardust album. The project was shelved...."

At least we know there's been some homework....

I'm not sure Black Hole Kids was actually recorded at the time was it? Sounds like it might just have been an unfinished lyric he went back to.

David had mentioned the song on a number of occasions, I'm thinking it's on a tape somewhere

"I'm going to include an old song called "Blackhole Kids," which is fabulous. I have no idea why it wasn't on the original [Ziggy Stardust] album. Maybe I forgot." - (1999)

"I've pulled out a good deal of scraps that were never used at the time. Some of them are only 30 seconds long, but I'm extending those. I thought, 'OK, is this crap and is that the reason why it never appeared on the first one or is it OK and should I try and do things with it?' So I've taken those six tracks and thrashed them out and made them into songs that will support the original. One's called the 'Black Hole Kids' which is fascinating." - (2000)

I've no idea who or where these interviews originate, but they seem to do the rounds whenever 'Ziggy outtakes' are mentioned

Whatever snippets they have would not be enough for each individual album.
If they released a "With the Spiders" album with what they have as extra, along with stuff like Sweet Head that missed the Five Years Boxset, it might make an interesting release.

Doing a further boxset of each album with one or two new tracks would be extremely tedious and a shame to hold up record production for new artists.
