Hi,

I have an alternative version of Strangers When We Meet from 1993. If anyone is interested I'll upload or PM? It's slightly longer than the Buddha album version at 5:15 with a different instrumentation as well.

Yes! I didn't think this was easy to find.

Thanks for the info - I only found this the other day and was over the moon being it being my favourite Bowie track.

Yes, I think it's a great version too. Lovely intro and outro. Are there any demos from the soundtrack itself out there - I heard that the versions are different in the series itself?

As much as I enjoy The Buddha of Suburbia, there is a quality to this version of Strangers that isn't really on the rest of the final album, which does make me wonder what earlier versions of the songs sounded like. Some of the songs have a similar feel to the redone "Look Back in Anger" and "I Pray Ole" - perhaps work started on some during that period but focus switched to Tin Machine?

It is also strange that Bowie redid Strangers another two times, when this first version is excellent.

Thanks for posting the flac! I think it's an awesome version of the song. But then I could probably hear hundreds of takes on the song without growing tired of it, it's that good. Anyway, this is exactly the kind of stuff I would love to see released some day. Thanks again, this is a great find!
