Interesting indeed! From the BWW thread I can't make up if it's the DVD 2.0 version that is different from the regular CD and 5.1 mix? It certainly does make sense to check the rest of the concert as well.

Nice find! From listening to the samples on BWW I'm 99% sure the stereo DVD version is the same is what we previously had, so that would make the 5.1 mix unique.

The thread on BWW is confusing, but like Maarten says, it looks as though it's the 5.1 mix which is the different performance. Marginally slower tempo too.

We've had the Heathen SACD plus the Young Americans and Stage DVD-As containing 'easter eggs'. Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if the David Live DVD-A has something undiscovered as well!

I can type them out but it's easier if you just check their entries under Albums in the IdbD!

Hi Ruud,
Just checked the album entries but can't find anything about those easter eggs. Am I overlooking something?

The Heathen SACD has longer versions of some of the tracks, as does the 5.1 Young Americans (e.g. Lennon speaking at the end of "Across The Universe")
I think this is what Ruud means by "easter egg"

Yes, sorry if that was unclear. As far as I remember those alternate versions were never documented at the time of their release.

And to return to the subject: both versions of TVC 15 are identical up to 3'00" (e.g. check the fluffed line at 1'48"), so they must have been spliced together from different performances. I have compared the rest of the CD and DVD-A and could not spot any further differences. I checked only one or two 'markers' in each song, so that may not have been enough...

I just noticed that on Facebook, Craig Hamlin (Tonyday on BWW/Bnet) asked Tony Visconti if he could "solve the mystery", to which Tony Visconti replied "No." Edit, here is the full conversation; Craig HamlinTony Visconti: Hi Tony. Over on the Bowiewonderworld site, its come to light that there are two totally different versions of TVC15 on the STAGE DVD-A release. The 2.0 stereo version is different to the 5.1 surround version. Can you help solve the mystery ??? Tony Visconti No. Craig Hamlin Ha Ha ... ill let em know Tony Visconti All I can say is I do my job right, what happens after I deliver the work is beyond my control. Craig Hamlin Its really noticeable at the end of both versions. The call and response thing he does is different, the drum rolls are different, and at the songs end, David says two totally different things. Strange. Ill let ya know if we `anals` find any more oddities
