Is this the first ever Korean Bowie CD? or at least the first with something so distinctive?

Not the first and there have been Korean pressings for all of the studio albums since Black Tie White Noise. I don’t think they press many though, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. But the extra booklet is unusual and it would be good to know why it was needed this time.

There can be other differences and I particularly like the Outside artwork variation below. BTWN has the Don’t Let Me Down And Down Indonesian vocal and it’s always nice to see the Han Kook name alongside BMG.

As far as I’m aware, Ziggy is the only back catalogue album released in Korea, both the S+V and David Bowie Series issues. Compilations include the Best of 1969-1974 and The Platinum Collection. Nothing Has Changed was also released today. Not forgetting the 1967 David Bowie album that was released in Korea in the early 90s.

There’s also a Korean Without You I’m Nothing single from 1999 and there may be other albums and singles that I’ve forgotten to mention or haven’t found.

Korea doesn’t do Obis like Japan, but the S+V Ziggy appeared with an Obi in 1997 as part of EMI’s 100th anniversary promotion. I believe the album was also distributed without the Obi after 1997.
