In response to a suggestion here is a thread to list the matrix numbers (as they appear in the blank vinyl at the end of the record side).

The IdbD contains the main information about albums

For the Illustrated db Discography

The vinyl album discography (VAD) contains differences in design, covers and labels between editions of LP records from all countries.

This thread is for those who wish to "drill down" further and check out matrix numbers, which can assist in locating albums that will have the same sound, help determine original pressings and so forth.

If adding to a thread at different time please edit your own posts to add additional versions (rather than a new post) - that way it will be easier to locate info..

Hi,

Ziggy US pressings

I'm trying to put together some info on ziggy stardust American 1st issues.
I have three different pressing plant copies.
Hollywood, rock away and Indiana.
Rock away matrix APRS 6814 - 6S A2Z / APRS 6185 4S C1M scratched
Indiana APRS 6814 2S A1 / APRS 6815 2S A2 stamped
Hollywood APRS 6814 5S / APRS 6815 5S stamped
The pressing plant is indicated by an R I or H.
Traditionally they are numbered sequentially.
2S is a first pressing for Indiana so a 1S should be Hollywood or Rockaway - does anyone have a 1S?
Or a 3S?
Any help gratefully received
Thanks
