I've been trying to avoid the 40th anniversary picture discs (you can only collect so much). However, I broke down and picked up Heroes for the Marc show version that is previously unreleased. I then started looking at the other releases, and I could go through each one carefully, but I thought it might be easier to ask:
Which of these picture discs actually have unreleased content that a collector of the MUSIC would need to buy?
So far, I know: - Heroes: Marc version of Heroes - Be My Wife: Art Decade from Perth - Beauty and the Beast: Blackout from Berlin
Any others where the content is unreleased officially?
Thanks in advance!
Graham

Thanks for that. That's more than I thought. I do mean "official", but also meant on CD (or even DVD, I suppose). I should have been more clear.

So basically just the three you mentioned and Jean Genie for truly officially unavailable material.

Thanks very much for that, Maarten. It's exactly what I was looking for. I know I could have searched through and figured this all out myself, but I figured someone on here probably knew it off the top of his or her head, so I thought I'd ask first. Thanks again!
I've really been trying to avoid these releases, but I guess I'll pick some of them up, based on this.

Curiously enough I dug out my picture discs the other day to determine an answer to the same question - one of them Fame or Young Americans says it's a single edit of a Tony Visconti remix so isn't that also exclusive?

the Young Americans remix edit is, as i recall, on the 3CD edition of Nothing Has Changed.
But you are correct that I forgot to add it it on the earlier list that deals only with vinyl.
It makes the Young American single the only 40th picture single to be unique on both sides in terms of pure vinyl (I say "pure" tongue in cheek with these defective discs).

Right - thanks for correcting me. That detail had escaped my notice.
